West Virginia Bigfoot S

Bigfoot is fairly well know around the world and in the United States, but real or hoax I'll leave others to decide. There is an organization called "Bigfoot Field Research Organization" [BFRO] that has been checking on 50 Bigfoot sightings in West Virginia dating back to 1975. Their web site is http://www.bfro.net/. They have listed over 4000 sightings or tracks in North America. Many sightings in West Virginia have been from Monroe, Pocahontas, Greenbrier, Nicholas and Randolph Counties. They did a research project in West Virginia this past April.

Back when my son was younger and interested in Bigfoot we used to subscribe to "The Bigfoot News." Listings of all the latest Bigfoot sightings were included. I do not think it is still being published.

Jon Beckjord from Northgate, Washington and Peter Byrne [climbed Mount Everest around five time] of Parkdale, Oregon used to run it. I called Peter Byrne one evening about a couple sightings in Northern California and expected a secretary to answer the telephone. Dog gone if he didn't answer his own telephone. I was honored.

Likely the latest sighting [Snowshoe Resort] in West Virginia including a video is on BUZZERDBILLY APPALACHIAN BEING'S blog. I don't think I would like to meet up with whatever it is or is not.

My father used to tell me you didn't have to worry about the four legged animals in the woods. It's just the two legged ones you had to worry about. That advice likely helped me stay alive the last sixty years.
