A variety of weird and wonderful UFOs - including crafts resembling an exploding sixpence and a multi-coloured Malteser - have been spotted in Wales.
The bizarre claims were among 119 flying saucer sightings in Wales reported to the Ministry of Defence since 2000.
The soaring sweetie - like "a Malteser when held at arm's length" - was spotted in Neath in July 2000. It was described as being orange, green, red and white.
In Monmouth, one person thought they spotted an alien craft through their bedroom window in October 2005, reports WalesOnline.
And in Penarth, there were reports of a "very bright object above the sun" in September 2009.
A "bright orange light" that was "definitely not a place" was seen from Pontypridd in August 2009.
Earlier this year, Hilary Porter claimed aliens were targeting Welsh people.
In 2005, an onlooker reported seeing a red ball "the size of a sixpence" which "exploded and the sky lit up".
And in West Wales, in 2009, there was a report of three objects "like bright orange tennis balls stuck together flying across the sky".
In 2001, in South Wales, another report said a triangular object - "like an inverted ice cream cone" - had "disappeared down a country lane".
The British UFO Research Association's national investigations coordinator Heather Dixon believes most craft can be easily explained.
"There are so many drones going up that people see drones and think they are seeing something unknown," she said.
"If they believe in extra terrestrial visitation they may immediately think something is an extra terrestrial craft.
A "large white ball" that "hovered and then disappeared" was seen in Rhydtalog, Flintshire, in April 2000.
On Anglesey, in September 2009, an amber object "similar to an egg shape" was said to have hovered over a field before vanishing.
Five minutes later, two more appeared in the same place, disappeared, then reappeared over the Menai Strait.
In Caernarfon in February 2001, a witness saw something that "looked like a star" which was "a green colour, with red on the side".
The investigator noted it "looked like it was going to crash into the witness's house".
But Ms Dixon said she had "never seen anything in the sky that I could not explain".
She said: "There are reports sometimes that we cannot identify something but that does not mean they are unidentifiable. It means we might not have enough information."
In 2009, aliens were spotted heading from Wales toward the border, one observer claimed.
Seven silent "bright orange lights" were in the sky and they were "travelling towards the Wirral".
In January 2001, there was a report over Ogwen Valley, Gwynedd, which is more commonly home to military aircraft.
The ship was "like a shooting star, but with a burning tail". The witness told investigators it was "about the size of a military aircraft".
In Ammanford, in May 2009, there were "seven orange orbs that suddenly disappeared".
And in Cardigan, in January of the same year, "five rather big orange things" flew over a witness on the ground.
"He was terrified," the report, taken by the Ministry of Defence (MoD), said.
In Pontrobert in May 2007 a 100ft-high blue-and-green triangle was seen. Then a second object appeared which had "pink pulsating lights".
However, the British UFO Research Association says it has no time for silliness.
Ms Dixon said: "We conduct scientific, rigorous and robust investigations. There is a lot of nonsense on the net and it is a real problem."
"People's sightings often reflect their beliefs. I'm not saying there are not mysteries out there, not at all."

The poll, last conducted in 2008 and followed up this year, also shows that number is rising. How? Thanks to our incredibly powerful information system, otherwise known as the Internet. Web tales of the President's secret Muslim faith have been circulating for years. You would think that the evidence otherwise would have put these ideas to rest. Instead, the opposite seems to be occurring.
Why do I mention all of this in a blog about Extraterrestrial First Contact? Imagine the crap that would be flying around After First Contact? There would be all of the abduction and alien conspiracy folks, who would suddenly have a much more plausible argument. There would be new conspiracy theorists, trying to uncover evil things happening behind the scenes. Religious extremists would take to the web like never before. The average Internet faring folks at home in Middle America (or Middle India) will have to sift through it all and form an opinion. And opinions matter. If the majority of humans are against diplomacy with extraterrestrials, we could realistically end up taking an isolationist stance.
About the only antidote is transparency. Alien First Contact should be as transparent as possible. Unfortunately extraterrestrial visitors won't be able to tell us everything about themselves immediately. That will lead to a certain amount of distrust. And there should be some things carefully regulated, like the flow of scientific and technological information. This regulation will of course set off a whole new round of conspiracy theories.
Maybe there is truly only one solution. Perhaps humanity needs to grow up, and quickly. The Internet is a tremendous tool for knowledge. But only if we know how to drive it.

Done Describe of Event/Sighting: Two lights looked while aircraft lights which we detain uniformly over our house but yet to come in at a novel angle. Seemed to be sliding while an aircraft (at hand was no engine drone) I consideration it may be in mourning as it was way to low to the ground and off the normal course that the planes breath over our house. To boot the lights where not alternating while normal aircraft lights. I started to guess the plane would crash somewhat tough to our house if it continued the lights where very tough to the ground no aircraft that large would be that tough. The lights seemed to conserve progressing pass by subsequently hovered in the air. The lights subsequently started to banquet to one side. They turned from a point outlook to a successive outlook and continued to get banquet to one side. The extremity light got smaller and enhanced orangey in color and seemed to go away. The light at the top started to lessen and subsequently vanished to.

In November 2010 Helen and her boyfriend Chris experienced a sighting of a large glowing spherical UFO near to the village of Corris in Wales. She originally informed PRUFOS about the incident, but in early 2011 decided to post the sighting on Richard Hall's website, which is how she initially got in touch with me.
SIGHTING DETAILS
Mid-evening on 6th November 2010, Helen and Chris were driving from their house at Corris Uchaf along the A487 to the nearby town of Machynlleth to go food shopping. It was around 7.30pm, and an overcast, wet and windy evening. It was already dark due to the time of year but the sky was covered in cloud so the stars were not visible.

As they turned a corner in the road Helen noticed a large circle of light in the sky in front of them. She was chatting with Chris so at first did not really engage with what she was seeing. As the colour of the light was neon orange she assumed at first that it was a street light positioned up high somewhere she had never noticed before. As she looked at the light it slowly dawned on her that there could not be a street light in that position. They came to a clear stretch of road and at this point it became obvious that the light was coming from a huge orange glowing sphere that was suspended high up in the air. Helen had now been watching it for at least a minute, and it hadn't moved at all during this time.

She exclaimed to Chris "What the hell is that?!" to which he replied the same. They watched the object for about a minute while Chris found somewhere suitable to pull over the car. As he did so they discussed the idea that it was a Chinese lantern, but quickly dismissed this theory. They had seen lanterns launched from a wedding earlier in the year so knew exactly what they looked like both up close and at a distance. Helen's then considered the idea that it was some kind of planet that had come into view in the sky and for whatever reason appeared very close to the Earth. But deep down she knew it could not be this as the sky was overcast. The object was very large in the sky, about twice the size that the moon would have appeared if it was not hidden by cloud. It had clearly defined edges and was glowing a constant intensely bright orange-red. It was completely silent.
Chris stopped the car close to the Braich Goch Inn so they could get out and get a better look at the object. Almost immediately after they got out, the object suddenly ascended at a rapid speed. Chris shouted "It's moving! Look!" The object then descended back downwards to where it had been, before moving horizontally a short distance and then vanishing without trace! It did not look like it had flown into the clouds. It only took several seconds for it to make these manoeuvres.

Once it had gone, Helen and Chris got back in their car and continued their journey. On the way home later they looked for it again but it had not returned.
SIGHTING ANALYSIS
Helen is completely convinced that what they witnessed was either a covert military craft or a genuine UFO. I would agree with this statement. Often orange orbs of light seen in the sky can probably be explained away by Chinese lanterns. However this object seemed much too large and clearly defined for it to have been a lantern. It also displayed manoeuvres that suggested it was under control - hovering motionless for over two minutes, despite the windy weather, before suddenly moving various directions and then vanishing. A lit inflatable or lantern would surely have drifted in the wind during this time or moved on a continuous path. But it is the apparent size of the object which impresses me the most. Lanterns are actually cylindrical in shape and only appear as orange orbs at a distance. They are not very big and would certainly not appear like something bigger than the moon unless they were very close, at which point their actual shape and structure would become visible.
It was clearly not a normal aircraft or helicopter. Due to the manoeuvres it performed it could not have been a hot air balloon. The sighting took place in quite a rural area so perhaps it was a secret aircraft the military were testing out. However due to the appearance of the object this seems quite unlikely. For what purpose would the military be flying a huge glowing spherical object around? It seems more probable to me that the object was not being flown by the military, and was possibly of extra-terrestrial origin. There have been many sightings before of similar UFOs all around the world, some of which I have directly investigated.

Always happy to see our friends from way, way, way out of town :) I must admit, it's a beautiful place to sight-see. Although based on their past behavior, I think they were most probably checking out water resources in Alaska Basin.
