Many years ago, when public schools were places of learning inhabited by teachers and students who shared knowledge and curiosity about the world -- whereas today the schools often seem more caught up in sex, violence, murder lists, weapons, societal ignorance and the virtual stupidity spawned by stupid parents who unfailingly produce a wealth of hopelessly stupid offspring dedicated to upholding the family tradition -- a UFO researcher could actually visit and offer presentations about UFOs before packed school auditoriums. No more. Today, we may as well be Satan himself, baby. If you speak for a traditional faith and wear absurd costumes while preaching long-dead dogma based upon amnesiac tales of deities lazying around for all eternity in the paradise of the dead, well, that's who the special masses want to hear from. But UFO evidence? Nonsense. Foolishness. Go away and take those ufological fantasies with you, because most folks are too busy watching TV or experiencing orgasmic rituals over the alleged face of a mystical superhero imprinted on a cracker slobbered with cheese spread.
Yeah, I used to speak in school auditoriums about UFOs, and I showed slides. Students would come up to me after the shows, their minds bursting with questions, and they sometimes requested autographs -- autographs! I felt like a rock star.
And there were the radio talk shows. Not the politically slanted poop self-designated as "talk shows" foisted upon listeners today, but real programs interested in all sides of a topic. As a guest during the sixties and seventies on numerous Central NY radio and TV shows, I always respected the men and women who hosted them. Particularly Chuck Tornell.
His real name was Charles Tornatore, known professionally as Chuck Tornell. Like so many whose names appear on this blog, he's dead now, departed in 1994 at age 59. A life-long resident of Syracuse, he worked at a variety of jobs over the years, including car salesman, limo driver and actor. Not only did he appear in plenty of local plays and served as master of ceremonies at various events, he also appeared as an extra in the movies, "Slapshot" and "Lady in White." As a broadcaster he interviewed numerous legends, including comedians Milton Berle, Pat Cooper and Lou Monte, and singers Al Martino, The Vagabonds and Don Cornell.
Chuck kindly invited me to guest on several of his shows at various radio stations, and his were always the most fun of all. He was courteous, fair and open-minded, and I can't express enough how rare those features seem today amongst some in the broadcast crowd. I also suspect he had many a disagreement with station management about the things he wanted to do, as he was hardly the "yes man" type.
Anyway, I just thought I would take an opportunity today to memorialize Chuck, and accompanying these words is a two-page letter I wrote to a newspaper after his death. The letter was not printed, so I'm going to share it with you now. If you happen to live in an area where local radio talk shows remain enjoyable on stations not dominated by insecure, arrogant, humorless, rude or borderline religious fanatic hosts, you're lucky. Where I live, "conglomerate" is the broadcast word of the day, and all the designations listed in the prior sentence apply stringently. A shame, really.

UFO Alien Spacecraft near the Sun! Are NASA covering this up? It seems a little weird to us, but what is it?
The lack of NASA update, SOHO went into "Emergency Sun Reacquisition" mode on the 4th May 2012 caused by a false trigger of the Coarse Sun Pointing Attitude Anomaly Detector. Nominal science operations should be re-established in the next couple of days.
On May 3, 2012, YT rob19791 found on the Helioviewer an enormous UFO. The next day SOHO went down.
In the next video you see four similar (UFOs) images from NASA, including the anomaly from YT rob19791 and the SOHO Lasco C2 - Giant UFO recorded on April 24, 2012. Coincidence?
The next video, recorded on May 5, 2012 from Stereo Ahead COR1 shows a strange objcet caught in a CME and goes in reverse.
Look very close particularly and the last segment and you can see the CME going over the object, it causes a ripple Then the UFO moves up a little and then takes off towards the sun!
In the meantime as long as SOHO is in "Emergency Sun Reacquisition" mode and NASA is not willing to come out with a statement or explanation, here is a compilation of the best UFO / anomalies found from the SOHO probe and convince yourself.

First, a disclaimer: I'm a peace person and my husband, Jim, is a UFO enthusiast. You might call that a mixed marriage, but you'd be wrong. In fact, the topic at the next meeting of the Arizona Department of Peace Campaign will be The Phoenix Lights and Peace.
Surprised? Most people think UFO hunters are looking for little green men to capture and study, like zoo animals or lab specimens. But if intelligent beings have conquered long-distance space flight, don't they deserve respect, as well as the kindness even the least creatures on our planet deserve? The nascent discipline of exopolitics involves not only how much the government knows about this issue, but how to establish peaceful relations with an alien race when contact is made.
I jumped into the discussion a couple of years ago when I wrote that we have no business leaving this planet when we don't yet know how to behave right here at home. This column became the last section of my book, "The World I Imagine: A creative manual for ending poverty and building peace".
Obviously, any discussion of the Phoenix Lights should be very interesting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the AZ DOP Campaign meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in the Tekakwitha room, in the back of the campus at The CASA, Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 East Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85253.

The author is a mathematician and teaches same at a California University.
I wanted to extol this book as it takes a rational, math-oriented view of various paranormal topics and experiences (ESP, numerology, astrology, et cetera) along with observations -- false and true -- about scientific matters: quantum mechanics, the nature of the Universe, physics (generally), et cetera.
But I'm only half-way through it, and stifled by the bloggy approach.
I need something more academic or stuffy. (Sorry)
But some here might find it worthwhile. It's an easy read, and fraught with little-known material about scientists, mathematical models, and the shady side of the paranormal world.
It's got more than 16.99 worth of valuable insights and information.
If you like math -- and who doesn't -- and a skeptical stance on paranormal topics, this book will be worth your money and time.
(UFOs and alien abductions are not treated seriously, premised as weird but not amenable to real scrutiny.)
Grab the book if your wont is that the paranormal is goofy but subject to scientific examination; the supernatural not as far-fetched as one might think -- many scientists being attracted to the topics one finds in the supernatural lexicon.

I was 16 years old in 1976. Was parking on a gravel road with an old boyfriend listening to rock music. We had our music turned up really loud in those days when all of a sudden we heard a sound that got loud out of the clear blue. The sound drowned out the music that we were listening to. The noise just came out of no where. This area is out in the middle of nowhere. All of a sudden something sounded like it was hovering over the top of our car aprox 20 feet or so. My boyfriend leaned over and looked out of the driver side window. I also leaned over when he did and saw what looked like a big circular object. Although i couldn't make out the color, there were lights all around the underneath. The thing seemed like it knew we were there. It stayed suspended over the car for a few seconds drowning out the music. We were so scared my boyfriend peeled out and away we went. It was definatly NOT a helicopter or anything of that sort. It was there, then all of a sudden just gone. When i got home that night i rushed in and told my parents who didn't believe me. I think they thought i was trying to stay out past my curfew or something. I often wonder if there was a time difference that at the time i may not have noticed. Just didn't here alot about things like that then. We didn't have the classic car not starting and this thing was loud not quiet.I kept this silent for many years until a few years ago. When i do tell people they just laugh and act like i am a kook or something. It has bothered me for many years and just wanted to get this off my chest.

Full Description of event/sighting: This is in response to the Astorville sighting. I was on my way to work early Wednesday morning. I was driving west on hwy. 17 from Bonfield to North Bay, I saw what looked like lit up clouds to the south of me which would be over towards Astorville. As I was driving I could see bands of clouds with open sky in between them and at the end of one of the cloud banks it was like a pure white light was on behind it and the light washed over it into the open area. I kept on driving and watching it as best that I could as watching for animals in the dark is always a good idea. It persisted for about 5 minutes and then just disappeared. It wasn't the sun coming up as it was to my south not east and the sun doesn't rise at 4:15. Since my first sighting about 2 years ago, the bright green/blue dome light incident I have spotted strange phenomenon's two other times not including this. No I don't believe the young lady who saw what she saw, is crazy.

As some UFO researchers are busy these days bashing UFO documentaries and networks and producers at UFO Updates, I'd like to take a moment to thank the good folks at Space for giving me the opportunity to try something a bit different - a serious film about serious UFO cases. It's a risk for them, and they deserve all the credit in the world (and beyond) for taking it, especially Charlotte Engel, who heads up their independent production section, and greenlit the film over two years ago.
The next UFO-related film I make, assuming I ever make another, which is at best a 50 / 50 proposition, would probably focus on the tongue-in-cheek, weird and wacky world of ufology (where truth really is stranger than fiction). Something where I head out with my pals Nick Redfern, Mac Tonnies, Tim Binnall and Greg Bishop on a ufoological road trip across America maybe - definitely in an RV. Kris Lee Mcbride will be tagging along as well. At the end we meet the Court Jester of Ufoology, the one and only Jim Moseley. I've earned the right to look at the lighter side of it all.
But for the moment, I'm Mr. Serious, and if "Best Evidence" isn't quite Dick Hall's "The UFO Evidence" (and I never claimed it would be, knowing full well that no documentary can match a book for detail), Dick was still smart enough to see the merit in the project, and contribute, as were a lot of others.
And unlike Peter Jennings and his team, I was smart enough to recognize the contribution that Dick has and continues to make - he's in the film, along with Nick Pope, Stan Friedman, Bruce Maccabee, Mac Tonnies, Don Ledger, and our chief consultant and my good friend, Brad Sparks - as well as witnesses Colonel Charles Halt, Captain Robert Salas, and Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Bailey.
Is it the greatest film ever made? Hardly. But is it a film you're going to want to see?
I hope so.
