Across human cultures and civilizations, there are ancient stories that seem to possibly be related to unusual beings of several kinds. The legends and insights of Native American Indian tribes could be particularly helpful.
Research by people in the defense, intelligence and scientific communities would also probably have looked at this much broader picture to determine if UFOs and their pilots, crews and passengers were simply a specific phenomena, or part of a much more complex tapestry in a more mysterious universe.

Today, it is sometimes assumed that unconventional visitors or beings would be from another planet in another solar system and galaxy, possibly from another time, or another bordering dimensional neighborhood of our universe or "multi-verse."
This might very well have some truth to it. There are indications that this kind of scenario is something that we would be wise to prepare ourselves for.
In fact, some people say that elements of the defense, intelligence and scientific communities have been trying for some time to educate, acclimate and prepare us for such a situation.
Yet, to expand our thinking about unusual possibilities, we might also consider the concept of angels as one type of extraterrestrial or inter-dimensional being. Stories about angels tell us that they sometimes move between our worldly dimension and the one we call the afterlife or Heaven.
And, it is assumed that many of them once walked the Earth as average humans, then became spiritually advanced during and/or after their life on Earth as they passed on to another dimension, or possibly accessing multiple other dimensions.
Additionally, there seems to be a general belief that angels, if they exist, behave in secretive and mysterious ways, often behind the scenes and with plans and agendas that are sometimes difficult to understand.
In this sense, they seem to behave like covert intelligence agents, although we probably expect angels to rise to higher levels of professional conduct in their methods and objectives.
How should we try to understand such apparent diverse concepts as angels possibly existing around us along with beings from other planets who come here in advanced spacecraft?
If this spectrum of possibility was real, would the goals of multiple kinds of beings be the same? Would they have different agendas and different ideas of moral and ethical behavior?
Would these diverse beings have something in common, such as greater understanding of the physics of the universe and how time, space, energy work? Would they use the same kinds of wormholes, portals and star gates to get from one place to another?
Do they utilize extrasensory perception and mental telepathy in the same way? Do they perceive a larger and more fundamental force in play or even a master plan of some kind?
DISCOVERY, CHANGE AND UNDERSTANDING
People in the defense, intelligence and scientific communities tasked with tackling such questions might have found the job challenging and difficult. Many of them might have been psychologically unprepared for some of these contingencies.
The same could be said about the rest of us too.
As we move forward amid various reports of UFO encounters, new and different scientific views of nature and the universe, and greater understanding about the potential of human consciousness, we all may find it challenging and difficult.
There may even be threats to consider that are different from, and in addition to the conventional dangers we face such as nuclear war, degradation and pollution of Earth's natural environments and overpopulation.
Still, there seem to be many kinds of potential benefits and rewards. These include achieving greater understanding of the world around us, acquiring and developing advanced technologies that benefit humanity and our planet, mitigating human suffering and enhancing the development of the human species.
The UFO situation is probably quite complex, just like many of the other predicaments and dilemmas we face throughout life.
We know that humans often find it difficult to get along with other humans. Adding other intelligent beings to the mix - including beings who could be quite different in certain ways and more advanced in some ways - is bound to require and result in change.
What kind of change? That seems to be a reasonable question.
So who do we look to for answers? To our defense, intelligence and scientific communities? To our friends, families and communities? To our personal beliefs, perceptions and gut feelings?
Probably all of the above. In fact, to try to deal with significant discovery and change that could be around the corner in these interesting areas of science and psychology, it might be helpful to develop a range of resources that help all of us gain greater understanding.

"He served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, at the McCall University." His area of speciality knowledge is human visual perception and memory.UAP BACKGROUND:Donderi "Started to read about UFOs when I was ten years old." (p.xi.) He investigated various reports, which included photographic cases; close encounters; occupant cases and abduction cases, in Canada. Of the individual witnesses which he met, he says "Nothing in the behaviour or personal history of any of them leads me to think that they are mentally disturbed or that they told fabulous stories for personal or psychological gain." (pp xix-xx.)THE BOOK:The work is divided into three sections, "UFOs, Extraterrestrials," and "Us." Part one is the area where Donderi reviews the subject from the 1947 Kenneth Arnold sighting; the 1957 RB-47 event; the 1973 Coyne helicopter case; contactees; Project Blue Book, amongst others.There is a quick review of researchers Hynek; Keyhoe; and Menzel, plus UFO groups APRO, NICAP, FUFOR, MUFON and CUFOS.Part two sees Donderi take a look at such cases as the 1967 Ririe, Idaho CE; the 1966 Hill event; the 1968 Buff Edge, Vermont case; the 1976 Allagash abduction; and the 1989 Goodland, Kansas incident, amongst others.Perhaps the most important section, to me, is part three, where he examines how science has treated the subject."The scientists who dismisses UFO evidence because it is "folklore" is putting facts into the wrong pigeonhole." During its five-year primary mission, NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has given astronomers an increasingly detailed portrait of the universe's most extraordinary phenomena, from giant black holes in the hearts of distant galaxies to thunderstorms on Earth.
But its job is not done yet. On Aug. 11, Fermi entered an extended phase of its mission -- a deeper study of the high-energy cosmos. This is a significant step toward the science team's planned goal of a decade of observations, ending in 2018.
"As Fermi opens its second act, both the spacecraft and its instruments remain in top-notch condition and the mission is delivering outstanding science," said Paul Hertz, director of NASA's astrophysics division in Washington.
Fermi has revolutionized our view of the universe in gamma rays, the most energetic form of light. The observatory's findings include new insights into many high-energy processes, from rapidly rotating neutron stars, also known as pulsars, within our own galaxy, to jets powered by supermassive black holes in far-away young galaxies.
The Large Area Telescope (LAT), the mission's main instrument, scans the entire sky every three hours. The state-of-the-art detector has sharper vision, a wider field of view, and covers a broader energy range than any similar instrument previously flown.
"As the LAT builds up an increasingly detailed picture of the gamma-ray sky, it simultaneously reveals how dynamic the universe is at these energies," said Peter Michelson, the instrument's principal investigator and a professor of physics at Stanford University in California.
Fermi's secondary instrument, the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM), sees all of the sky at any instant, except the portion blocked by Earth. This all-sky coverage lets Fermi detect more gamma-ray bursts, and over a broader energy range, than any other mission. These explosions, the most powerful in the universe, are thought to accompany the birth of new stellar-mass black holes.

"More than 1,200 gamma-ray bursts, plus 500 flares from our sun and a few hundred flares from highly magnetized neutron stars in our galaxy have been seen by the GBM," said principal investigator Bill Paciesas, a senior scientist at the Universities Space Research Association's Science and Technology Institute in Huntsville, Ala.
The instrument also has detected nearly 800 gamma-ray flashes from thunderstorms. These fleeting outbursts last only a few thousandths of a second, but their emission ranks among the highest-energy light naturally occurring on Earth.
One of Fermi's most striking results so far was the discovery of giant bubbles extending more than 25,000 light-years above and below the plane of our galaxy. Scientists think these structures may have formed as a result of past outbursts from the black hole -- with a mass of 4 million suns -- residing in the heart of our galaxy.
To build on the mission's success, the team is considering a new observing strategy that would task the LAT to make deeper exposures of the central region of the Milky Way, a realm packed with pulsars and other high-energy sources. This area also is expected to be one of the best places to search for gamma-ray signals from dark matter, an elusive substance that neither emits nor absorbs visible light. According to some theories, dark matter consists of exotic particles that produce a flash of gamma rays when they interact.

"Over the next few years, major new astronomical facilities exploring other wavelengths will complement Fermi and give us our best look yet into the most powerful events in the universe," said Julie McEnery, the mission's project scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope is an astrophysics and particle physics partnership. Goddard manages the mission. The telescope was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science, with contributions from academic institutions and partners in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Sweden.

VIEWZONE:What is the most convincing evidence of a UFO that you have seen in your work?
The most convincing evidence of a UFO that I have ever seen is the case I investigated in the Alloway Township area of South Jersey. The witness statement is below:
BRIDGETON (NJ) -- I interviewed C.S. concerning his recent sightings and he provided this drawing of the flying triangle that passed over his astronomical observatory on October 13, 2006, at 12: 45 AM. He states,"I was confronted with an enormous object clearly defined by ambient light. I thought it was crashing but as it approached my observatory it began to rise. This thing was barely moving forward, and could not have been more than 200 feet above me, probably less. I could make out detail of rivets and bolts in its construction. As the objects rounded nose began to approach me, I was really taken back by its brightly lit windows. I was shocked to see a humanoid form moving as if it were pacing back and forth, in the large port window about eight feet square. As it got closer the figure moved away from the window. The figure is shown in the upper right side of the drawing. I thought there was no one at the controls. I got the impression it was getting ready to hover as its open hatch moved directly over me and I was entertaining some negative thoughts regarding my own safety."
"It was at least two stories high with two large windows, port and starboard, it had a rounded nose, there were three opaque light type structures, two large turbo type structures, larger in diameter and shorter in length than those on commercial aircraft. Eight flap or stabilizer type structures aft, a very large square black container type structure protruding off center from its belly. An open hatch, and other bulky geometric shapes that I saw but I can only remember they were thick, huge, bulky with an incredible amount of drag that it could not be an aerodynamic possibility. Almost immediately I felt a surge of static electricity that tingled my face and hair on my arms and head. As its tail section was about to pass over me I quickly swung the dome and heard a low pitched roar with the sound of bacon sizzling in a frying pan. Suddenly it was gone, no sound, and I did a 360 degree search but it suddenly there was nothing there."
KENS NOTE: I interviewed the witness shortly after the sighting and he was still physically shaken. He was afraid to go out to his observatory for a couple months after his encounter.
I have enclosed a copy of his drawing of the triangle [ABOVE]. After months of interviewing neighbors, I closed out the case as "unknown". The crazy thing about the whole investigation was that the neighbors did not want to talk to us at all. They were all very rude and just turned their back on us and walked away! Even the witness, who knew some of his neighbors, did not get any cooperation from them. "C.S." and his wife were new to the community. He had lived there approximately 6 months before the encounter.
It was the strangest case I have ever had. We came to the conclusion that the triangle must of been looking for cows or horses. This area of South Jersey is covered with farms. The large black container under the triangle was probably use for collecting animals.
Then something strange happened -- 11 months after this sighting. The witness, C.J., had another sighting. But this time he had some great photos to show!
9-24-07 Alloway Township New Jersey. MUFON case 8111. The witness statement is:"The night of September 24, 2007 was brightly lit due to a full moon. It was approximately 11:30pm and I was outside with a digital camera nearby. I had nothing special in mind but, due to the bizarre experience I had last October 2006 (this experience has been recorded on the Mufon web site), I always keep a camera on hand when I'm out at night.
A bright light again caught my eye and I observed this rectangular shaped light begin to rise slowly behind a tree line in the south approximately 1 mile away. This object appeared to hover for about 20 seconds and then began to travel west at a very slow speed.
As it began moving west, it seemed to pivot on both the vertical and horizontal axis revealing more detail until it disappeared behind a tree line. I captured this object with my digital and the pictures came out surprisingly well. I use a Canon 20D-A which I use for astrophotography. I have transferred these images to a disc."
KENS NOTE: This witness had now become an investigator for MUFON because of his first triangle sighting. I was the Chief Investigator and we finally closed out the case as "unknown". Of course we got no cooperation from the neighbors.
There are many high power lines in this area because they are converging at the Salem Nuclear Plant 13 miles away and Dover Air Force Base sits 26 miles away. The witness is no longer an investigator for personal reasons. I believe he has mover to Delaware.
