I knew I would finally be able to get AC/DC onto these pages somehow, even in a roundabout way via a mangled blog post title!

JUNE 01, 2013 - UNITED STATES - A recent 911 call from a Pennsylvania man claiming he saw Bigfoot has gone viral and fueled debate over whether the Sasquatch exists. Police say they investigated the footprints John Winesickle found and have determined they came from a bear. Winesickle's Bigfoot "sighting" on May 14 is just the latest in ongoing reports of Sasquatch sightings, which have come in from every state except Hawaii. If anything, it may prove that the legend of the ape-like creature stands strong with believers looking to have their claims backed by science.In February, a group of Colorado researchers claimed they found scientific evidence to confirm Bigfoot's existence. Researcher Dave Paulides says his research group collected hundreds of DNA samples from Bigfoot, mostly from Northern California's redwoods, and said the creature is a human subspecies. "This DNA is like nothing else in the world," Paulides told CBS Denver. He says Bigfoot is about 7 to 8 feet tall, weighs between 800 and 1,000 pounds, and travels in packs. Paulides, who founded the North America Bigfoot Search, understands the skepticism behind his group's mission. In fact, a 2007 Baylor Religion Survey found only 16 percent of Americans said that Bigfoot "absolutely" or "probably" exists. "It's easy to say a lot of things are crazy. If you lived underground your whole life, the belief that 400 people could fly in a plane would sound crazy," Paulides said. Ketchum said she obtained "whole nuclear genomes from purported Sasquatch samples. The genome sequencing shows that Sasquatch mtDNA is identical to modern Homo sapiens, but Sasquatch nuDNA is a novel, unknown hominin related to Homo sapiens and other primate species." One theory behind Ketchum's findings is that the samples were contaminated since Ketchum's team does not know how the samples were collected and has no point of reference to confirm whether they came from Bigfoot. The LegendLegends about Bigfoot and its related primates have existed in many cultures around the world. In North America, the legend of Bigfoot is believed to have been part of Native American belief for hundreds of years. European settlers in the 1830s reportedly saw large and hairy bipeds in the Pacific Northwest. In 1958, Jerry Crew, a tractor operator in California, found 16-inch footprints in the mud and coined the term "Bigfoot." Since then, eyewitness accounts, blurry photos, noises and footprints have been the only evidence to prove Bigfoot exists. Meteors that have crashed to Earth have long been regarded as relics of the early solar system. These craggy chunks of metal and rock are studded with chondrules - tiny, glassy, spherical grains that were once molten droplets. Scientists have thought that chondrules represent early kernels of terrestrial planets: As the solar system started to coalesce, these molten droplets collided with bits of gas and dust to form larger planetary precursors.

However, researchers at MIT and Purdue University have now found that chondrules may have played less of a fundamental role. Based on computer simulations, the group concludes that chondrules were not building blocks, but rather byproducts of a violent and messy planetary process.
The team found that bodies as large as the moon likely existed well before chondrules came on the scene. In fact, the researchers found that chondrules were most likely created by the collision of such moon-sized planetary embryos: These bodies smashed together with such violent force that they melted a fraction of their material, and shot a molten plume out into the solar nebula. Residual droplets would eventually cool to form chondrules, which in turn attached to larger bodies - some of which would eventually impact Earth, to be preserved as meteorites.
Brandon Johnson, a postdoc in MIT's Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, says the findings revise one of the earliest chapters of the solar system.
"This tells us that meteorites aren't actually representative of the material that formed planets - they're these smaller fractions of material that are the byproduct of planet formation," Johnson says. "But it also tells us the early solar system was more violent than we expected: You had these massive sprays of molten material getting ejected out from these really big impacts. It's an extreme process."
Johnson and his colleagues, including Maria Zuber, the E.A. Griswold Professor of Geophysics and MIT's vice president for research, have published their results this week in the journal Nature.
High-velocity molten rock
To get a better sense of the role of chondrules in a fledgling solar system, the researchers first simulated collisions between protoplanets - rocky bodies between the size of an asteroid and the moon. The team modeled all the different types of impacts that might occur in an early solar system, including their location, timing, size, and velocity. They found that bodies the size of the moon formed relatively quickly, within the first 10,000 years, before chondrules were thought to have appeared.
Johnson then used another model to determine the type of collision that could melt and eject molten material. From these simulations, he determined that a collision at a velocity of 2.5 kilometers per second would be forceful enough to produce a plume of melt that is ejected out into space - a phenomenon known as impact jetting.
"Once the two bodies collide, a very small amount of material is shocked up to high temperature, to the point where it can melt," Johnson says. "Then this really hot material shoots out from the collision point."
The team then estimated the number of impact-jetting collisions that likely occurred in a solar system's first 5 million years - the period of time during which it's believed that chondrules first appeared. From these results, Johnson and his team found that such collisions would have produced enough chondrules in the asteroid belt region to explain the number that have been detected in meteorites today.
Falling into place
To go a step further, the researchers ran a third simulation to calculate chondrules' cooling rate. Previous experiments in the lab have shown that chondrules cool down at a rate of 10 to 1,000 kelvins per hour - a rate that would produce the texture of chondrules seen in meteorites. Johnson and his colleagues used a radiative transfer model to simulate the impact conditions required to produce such a cooling rate. They found that bodies colliding at 2.5 kilometers per second would indeed produce molten droplets that, ejected into space, would cool at 10 to 1,000 kelvins per hour.
"Then I had this 'Eureka!' moment where I realized that jetting during these really big impacts could possibly explain the formation of chondrules," Johnson says. "It all fell into place."
Going forward, Johnson plans to look into the effects of other types of impacts. The group has so far modeled vertical impacts - bodies colliding straight-on. Johnson predicts that oblique impacts, or collisions occurring at an angle, may be even more efficient at producing molten plumes of chondrules. He also hopes to explore what happens to chondrules once they are launched into the solar nebula.
"Chondrules were long viewed as planetary building blocks," Zuber notes. "It's ironic that they now appear to be the remnants of early protoplanetary collisions."
Fred Ciesla, an associate professor of planetary science at the University of Chicago, says the findings may reclassify chondrites, a class of meteorites that are thought to be examples of the original material from which planets formed.
"This would be a major shift in how people think about our solar system," says Ciesla, who did not contribute to the research. "If this finding is correct, then it would suggest that chondrites are not good analogs for the building blocks of the Earth and other planets. Meteorites as a whole are still important clues about what processes occurred during the formation of the solar system, but which ones are the best analogs for what the planets were made out of would change."

As some UFO researchers are busy these days bashing UFO documentaries and networks and producers at UFO Updates, I'd like to take a moment to thank the good folks at Space for giving me the opportunity to try something a bit different - a serious film about serious UFO cases. It's a risk for them, and they deserve all the credit in the world (and beyond) for taking it, especially Charlotte Engel, who heads up their independent production section, and greenlit the film over two years ago.
The next UFO-related film I make, assuming I ever make another, which is at best a 50 / 50 proposition, would probably focus on the tongue-in-cheek, weird and wacky world of ufology (where truth really is stranger than fiction). Something where I head out with my pals Nick Redfern, Mac Tonnies, Tim Binnall and Greg Bishop on a ufoological road trip across America maybe - definitely in an RV. Kris Lee Mcbride will be tagging along as well. At the end we meet the Court Jester of Ufoology, the one and only Jim Moseley. I've earned the right to look at the lighter side of it all.
But for the moment, I'm Mr. Serious, and if "Best Evidence" isn't quite Dick Hall's "The UFO Evidence" (and I never claimed it would be, knowing full well that no documentary can match a book for detail), Dick was still smart enough to see the merit in the project, and contribute, as were a lot of others.
And unlike Peter Jennings and his team, I was smart enough to recognize the contribution that Dick has and continues to make - he's in the film, along with Nick Pope, Stan Friedman, Bruce Maccabee, Mac Tonnies, Don Ledger, and our chief consultant and my good friend, Brad Sparks - as well as witnesses Colonel Charles Halt, Captain Robert Salas, and Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Bailey.
Is it the greatest film ever made? Hardly. But is it a film you're going to want to see?

DISNEY'S MYSTERY MOVIE: 'TOMORROWLAND'...IS IT ABOUT ALIENS OR NOT?So, Brad Bird's hotly-anticipated sci-fi project for Disney - tentatively titled 1952 - now has its official name: Tomorrowland.Rumors have been swirling online for months that Bird's film - which will star George Clooney - is to be a Close Encounters-style UFO epic. Bird himself has remained tight-lipped.In October of last year, Vulture reported on the movie's mysterious back-story, which goes like this:last spring, Disney's head of production, Sean Bailey, arranged for screenwriter Damon Lindelof (Cowboys and Aliens, Prometheus) to be given access to "one of the studio's odder curiosities: a banker's box of files and documents that had been left moldering in Walt Disney's personal development lab, WED Enterprises, which later became the studio's vaunted Imagineering department."According to Vulture's "spies", the box was originally labelled with the title of Disney's 1965 comedy That Darn Cat!, which had been crossed out and in its place was written "1952." Apparently, inside the box was a "collection of documents and primary source materials that, when looked at all together, indicated that someone had been working on a project (movie? Theme park ride?) about alien contact."The identity of this "someone" from Disney's bygone era working on a project about alien contact was never specified, but I speculated that it might be Ward Kimball - who famously claimed to have worked on an aborted government-sponsored Disney UFO documentary that was supposed to have featured real UFO footage.However, within hours of publishing his inside scoop on 1952, Vulture's Claude Brodesser-Akner made a public apology, stating that he had "misunderstood" his source for his story and that Brad Bird's movie "is not in fact about an alien encounter."Now, the movie's screenwriter Damon Lindelof has chipped in with the following : "We won't tell you what it's about (yet), but we will tell you what it's NOT about. However, the cover of the issue is not related to Buck Rodgers, but depicts a scene from the story The Skylark of Space, by E.E. Smith. EXAMINING THE EARTHLIGHT THEORY...
An investigation into a mini-flap.

By now we've all heard of "earth lights." Paul Devereux of Great
Britian coined the term in 1982 when he published EARTH LIGHTS. In
that book, Devereux developed the idea that UFOs are a byproduct of
natural processes in the earth.
Micheal Persinger of Canada had already been saying the same
thing for years in a continous outpouring of papers in which he
developed his Tectonic Strain Theory of UFOs.
Vanguard Notes...
Michael Persinger is the researcher working with pulsating and
targeted magnetic fields in the brain. He and his team created
a "helmet" using nails wrapped with many turns of wire to form
cylindrical solenoids. These were then mounted in a sort of
football helmet to allow them to hang over different parts of
the brain.
When connected to a computer as a "printer", various patterns
can be output to magnetically stimulate the brain with specific
and repeatable patterns.
One of the most fascinating results of the experiment involved
the use of subjects with their eyes closed. While a certain
pattern was projected or "printed" to the solenoids, a
flashlight was aimed toward the subject's eyes and slowly
lowered. (a loose description follows)
Asked to describe what they saw, EVERY SUBJECT said the same
thing,
"I see a UFO coming down, it is landing. Now there are
small grey people coming out of it towards me. They are
taking me into the ship. Now they are doing somekind of
physical exploration. I am now being taken from the
ship."
As the flashlight beam is lifted up, the subject's say that the
UFO is now ascending and moving away.
Dennis Stacy investigated Persinger's work in Canada and
reported on it in a December issue of OMNI. I believe it was
88'.
We also have papers regarding other experiments in inducing
feelings or actions in the body using magnetic, electric and
sonic fields. These are being placed on KeelyNet as time and
funds allow, with as much technical data as we can provide.
Unfortunately, despite Devereux and Persinger's passion for the
concept of a UFO/earth stress link, neither researcher has yet
proven the case that UFOs are purely a natural phenomenon.
Rock has been crushed in the laboratory, eliciting extraordinary
brief pulses of light, but the result of that experiment--in the
words of Brian Brady, who developed the experiment--the crushing of
rock cannot account for "discrete" light forms seen at high altitude
(read : spherical UFOs at high altitude).
In fact, Brady's experiment even does away with the famous
"piezo-electric effect" as a source of UFOs; in terms of energy
output, piezo-electricity is simply too weak to account for anything
more than momentary, diffuse glows of light.

chew one or more while watching the glow from your mouth in a
mirror.
As a matter of fact, when this effect was first discovered
about these candies, many people working in hospitals percieved
them as a very real danger. The concern was that people in
oxygen tents might chew one and the resultant spark might
ignite and explode the oxygen in the enclosed tent.
A scientific study was done on this phenomenon and the effect
had no ignition effect whatsoever.
More importantly, how can a mysterious, elusive and unidentified
physical mechanism create STRUCTURED objects? This is the great
failing of the "earth-lights" theory; it attempts to solve the UFO
mystery by ignoring the actual content of the UFO report.
Any unexplained object seen in an earthquake-prone region--no
matter how artificial in appearance or "intelligent" in its actions
-suddenly becomes a byproduct of ionization, plasmas or some other
little-understood electrical process.
In 1981 I began an investigation into UFO sightings that had
occured over 20 years in a single area, the Yakima Indian
Reservation in south-central Washington state.
In the early 1980s, the MUFON UFO Journal published several of my
papers based on my preliminary findings. Now the J. Allen Hynek
Center for UFO Studies has published my complete findings as a book:

EXAMINING THE EARTHLIGHT THEORY looks microscopically at the
Tectonic Strain Theory of UFOs. I use the Yakima data (nearly 200
reports from a variety of witnesses, plus numerous color
photographs) to test the viability of the Tectonic Strain Theory
which Persinger believes explains the Yakima sightings.
The Yakima data form a "microcosm," a fascinating, self-contained
world of strange reports, which include a range of unexplained
occurences--orange balls of light, CE3's, possible abductions,
Bigfoot sightings, daylight objects, subterrrean sounds and more.
Nearly every part of the Reservation experienced some type of
unexplained event over a 20 year period, making the Yakima Indian
Reservation an excellent "laboratory" for detailed examination of
UFO phenomena.
Earthquake faults mark the ridges of the Reservation; it lies at
the foot of the volcanic Cascade Range; and fire lookouts were in
place on top of three mountains to observe and record strange lights
year after year...the right conditions for data collection, plenty
of UFOs and more than enough meticulous documentation to whet the
appetite of a curious scientist in serach of an explanation.

journey, following the sightings to their most recent occurence. All

I first heard about this case from an article I read in Nexus Magazine's November-December 2005 edition, which was a reprint of an article that was from Unicus Magazine. The author of the article is Robert Stanley and what I read was part 2 of 2 that is excerpted from a book the author was writing called, Capitol Offense: Alien Incursions of Restricted Airspace. My attention was brought back to this case when the White House and Air Force One photographer being written about in this article contacted me over the internet and put me on to his web site. He has done extensive analysis of his UFO/ETV pictures taken of alien activity on and around the White House.

This individual wishes to remain anonymous because of the sensitivity of his job and the high level contacts he has. I was very impressed by the analysis of his pictures that he has done and has available on the Internet. Some of his extraterrestrial contact does seem to be with the so called Greys that I and many others don't hold in very high esteem to say the least. This contactee might dispute this issue as he has stated that these ETs are peaceful.
It is generally accepted in the UFO/ET community that this type of ET is unethical and deceptive and bent on exploiting, infiltrating and possibly colonizing humanity from within. This is being achieved through genetic manipulation, fear and infiltration into the super-secret, highly classified national security system and autocratic power structure this race favors.
It is this secret system that secretly acknowledges and deals with extraterrestrial reality while suppressing that truth to the public. In my estimation such a secret control system operating under the guise of national security is a perfect environment and cover for stealthy infiltration and colonization of our society from within.
That said, because this individual has such high level credentials and pictures to back up his testimony that I believe more people need to know about this case. He and I had a very considerable email exchange over the period of a couple of days and I may send some of our local contactee video to him for analysis and distribution to his contacts.
It's important that high level policy makers realize that ET activity is not all negative and that they must be careful not to be fearfully manipulated by the unethical races into taking a indiscriminate hostile approach to extraterrestrial reality. The more ethical races are averse to interacting with the secret government and prefer instead to operate and create alliances as openly and transparently as possible through the whole of society.
Generally the more ethical races favor full open disclosure and maximum transparency before becoming more intimately involved with our society including any longstanding formal alliances or treaties. I think any short term formal contact is predicated on and dependent on full and open disclosure of extraterrestrial realities.
In this second Nexus article of a two part series there is further discussion of this individuals credentials. The contactee-abductee says he worked for ABC news for over 18 years as a senior engineer. More specifically he was an ABC senior network engineer, TOC ( Tactical Operations Center ) which is master control for ABC news. He says he worked extensively at the White House and on Air Force One. He worked under Reagan, Bush, and Clinton and I think he is still working under the current administration.
His father was a high level scientist at PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) and his fathers work was very classified and covert. Partly because of his father's work this contactee-abductee earned a masters degree in image technology and engineering.
He grew up on military bases around the world. In Sculthorpe, a base in England, he had a group of ETs enter his room when he was five years old in 1962. I suspect that this one of those cases where ET contact runs in the family and I would not be surprised that this person's father or mother were not abductees themselves.
This individual's second encounter was at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. The craft landed in a farm pasture across the street from base housing and he awoke at night with a single entity in his bedroom. This abductee while consciously forgiving seems from this account to suggest the usual unconscious, traumatic, fearful and invasive encounters that are so common amongst abductees. He still has sleep disorders to this day often sleeping in the daytime rather than at night.
His third encounter was when he took the White House pictures and there is a detailed discussion of the analysis of the pictures in the Nexus article. I think this case is important because it is another example as to the degree of the Grey's covert infiltration into the secret aspects of our society posing a very real threat. A case such as this needs to be put into perspective however.
People should not become trapped in their thinking and fearful emotions that these less ethical ETs predominate overall just because they do predominate in certain parts of our society where an environment of autocratic power, secrecy, and deception favor their infiltration and manipulation of humanity. High level autocrats both civilian and military seem to be primary targets for infiltration and control, but autocrats throughout society are vulnerable as well. The one thing that these ETs can't handle is exposure, openness and democracy and so long as secrecy prevails in these matters we are all in danger of exploitation and possible colonization by the less ethical ET races.
